Those Streetpass Plaza games are a lot of fun, but very time consuming. However, one of the best ways to really help yourself out a lot is to purchase a second 3DS. Now I know what you're probably thinking, but believe me when I say it's waaaay more than worth the money.
I discovered this when the new XLs came out. When I upgraded to a 3DS XL, I had planned on trading in my original 3DS to either GameStop or Disc Replay. But then I noticed something very cool, the two 3DSs were tagging each other!
There are a ton of benefits to tagging yourself. Number one is, you're no longer dependent on just the tags you randomly get from random people. This means you can just give yourself whatever color Mii you need to win in your games. If you need a red Mii for the next level, for example, you no longer have wait until you tag a passerby who's Mii is red. You can just grab your backup 3DS and change to your red Mii, then just sit back and wait to tag yourself!
Number two is, this will save you a ton of money in Play Coins. No more spending coins buying random Miis of random colors and just hoping the color you need will randomly come up. This will enable you to instead save all of your Play Coins for games that do not use Miis, such as Puzzle Swap.
Number three, you can just give yourself all the fantastic ratings you want. A whole lot better than just relying on the fantastic ratings you get from random people.
Number four, you can populate your Streetpass Plaza yourself, which was very helpful for me considering I live in an area where I'm pretty much the only person who has any interest in Nintendo. So myself, random tags I get from store display units, and the tags that Nintendo themselves send out are pretty much the only tags I ever get. Everyone once in a while I'll get a tag from another person, but that's very rare unless you're talking about someplace like Ramencon.
Which brings me to number 5, getting those achievements is pretty much a breeze. The only one I'm still having trouble with is that one where you have to get 100 tags in one day. Talk about impossible! Other than Ramencon, I'd have to buy 100 3DSs! That's jut crazy!
And that pretty much covers all the benefits that come with two 3DSs. And naturally, three of them would probably double all of these benefits even more.
